No, I've no idea why there are so many names that include LaHave but, according to Wikipedia, LaHave was the economic centre of fishing, trade and shipbuilding for the surrounding area for many years so perhaps it just made practical sense to delineate East from West, and Upper from Lower. Just keep it slow and steady for those first 12K!
